The book I read about was The Color Purple. This book was about a young girl named Celie. Celie was a girl who was abused by her own father. Celie was raped by her own father and had two kids by her own father. Celie had a girl and a boy she had to give it up because her father made her do it. The father gave the baby girl to a priest of the church. The baby girl was named Olivia. Later on a man came named Albert(but Celie had to called him Mr.) he wanted to married Celie's sister her name is Nettie but the father of Nettie and Celie didn't want Nettie to married Albert because she was to young and she had to go to school. But the father told Salbert that he could married Celie because she knows how to clean and take care of kids and she was ugly to: so than Albert married Celie. Albert abused Celie, he raped her and beat her. Later on Albert loved this woman named Shug Avery Celie loved her to because she was beautiful. Shug was a singer.

So Albert and Shug were couples back in the days so he heard from her and than got back together. Shug was Celie favorite role model they talked about every thing. One day Celie and Shug found letters that Nettie wrote from Africa. Celie and Shug found the in Alberts tresure box deep inside Celie found a lot of them and read them till Nettie came and saw Celie with her two kids so all of them met. So one day Celie father gave her a lot of money than Celie became rich and left her husband Albert. This book was written by Alice Walker. And it took place in the South in 1909. I enjoyed this story because I like to read about what happen in the past in the 1900s. The title of Color Purple meant that she liked a dress that was purple that go with her.
